Powerful Voices, Electrifying Energy and Beautiful Souls

Vancouver's "Soul Sistahs" a dynamic collaboration of Canada's finest R&B / Soul singers!! With the desire to create quality live music and to work amongst other talented women and respected artists, "Soul Sistahs" was inspired to generate diversity and opportunity within the Vancouver music scene.

From its conception the event started out very humble in the ambient, intimate setting that is Ginger 62 and has grown into what it is today. More and more commonly “Soul Sistahs” is referred to and recognized as a group, but this is not the case. To best describe what “Soul Sistahs” is in a nut shell would be "a group of girlfriends that sing, coming together to do what they love." The women that make up the “Soul Sistahs” are solo recording artists, and good friends first among other things.

Working together on these productions has proved to be motivating, individually empowering, and has taken each “Sistah” to higher places in their personal goals and careers; more importantly it has brought them closer together.  Some may not understand such a thought, but a sisterhood like theirs has encouraged each of them to be the best that they can be musically, personally and in all that they do. The Soul Sistahs  CD is a result of a combination of many factors, but mainly it reflects what hard work, dedication and passion can amount to. In the future they have high hopes to expand the production,  tour, make more records and continue to do what they love.

The “Soul Sistahs” sincerely hope you enjoy listening to their CD as much as they enjoyed making it.  And check these girls out live!

The Soul Sistahs are:

Jena Fair
Born and raised in Vancouver, Jena developed a passion for “all things entertainment” at a young age and has never let go since. During her high school years she was honoured by the Black Cultural Society of B.C. and received the top achievement award for her contribution to the arts, one of various awards Jena has received honouring her for her work.
Jena co-founded the successful group "Shades of Soul" with Omar Khan and Dave Morin.  The group would secure a record deal and release their 1st single "Get With You" that quickly fell into heavy rotation on Vancouver's #1 Hit Station The Beat 94.5 and claimed the #2 spot on the the "Blazin Seven @ 7".  The single managed to hold the spot for over a month and much to Jena's dismay, after the music video was shot, the label dissolved and group shortly there after.
Currently Jena is writing, collaborating, & performing every chance she gets and working towards her highly anticipated debut album. More recently she just returned from 4 month tour in Singapore with HB Wild. Her sound and writing style is one that carries with her all of her musical influences from R&B, pop, hip hop, jazz and country. On all facets, Jena considers herself very fortunate to be able to do something she has loved and nurtured all her life.

Christina Rich
Christina is an active recording artist and performer in Vancouver. “Without You”, co-written with producer Lin Gardiner and artist Zayne, was licensed for the movie “Deluxe Combo Platter”. Her music captured the ear of Rod Stewart producer Lauren Wild, From the studio to the stage Christina joined “Soul Sistahs” and has rocked shows at lounges and clubs in Vancouver. With her powerful stage presence, passionate energy, and a voice that carries outstanding natural ability, Christina will be endlessly connected to music! Her lusciously sweet tone and soulful edge combine an artist the world is anticipating to know

Tamara Rhodes
Every so often a superstar is waiting to "BE" discovered - a star that is untouchable and appears to transcend all earthly boundaries. However there is nothing untouchable about Tamara, yet her music definitely says superstar. An old soul with a young heart makes Tamara's sound as familiar as the sultry, smokey Jazz and Blues greats like Ella and Billie, yet as reminiscent as the fresh, hip sounds of Alicia Keys, Macy Gray and Jill Scott. Her sweet vocal style and beautifully written songs are winning the hearts of music listener’s; she is definitely making an impact strait across the board with her debut alum “Double Feature”. She has been a key member of “Soul Sistahs” since conception in 2005.  Tamara is the voice of several TV theme songs including “Blood Ties” and “Show Me Yours” and you will find her original songs in many TV shows as well. Tamara has the talent and ability to inspire millions of people.

Marie Hui
Marie Hui is a 23 year old aspiring singer/songwriter, born in Richmond, BC. She is presently a member of the St. Pauls Youth Mass Choir and has been for the last six years. She has learned the bulk of her musicality through this outlet. Music has been the inspiration in her life, giving her opportunities to presently work with the talented female vocalists involved with the “Soul Sistahs.” She is so thankful and fortunate to have found these beautiful ladies and knows that as a group, they will inspire, influence and accomplish so much more in the future. Marie plans on being with the group for the long haul, bringing talent, enthusiasm, creativity and passion to the art of performing the love of her life - music. Marie's other hobbies include playing sports, eating fine foods, and creating lasting memories with family, friends, and her puppy Joey.
