Gifted Jazz/Pop Singer and Songwriter
Listening to Amanda Wood sing brings to mind the subtle whispers of Norah Jones and the soulful range of Eva Cassidy. Her music is a beautiful balance of power and emotion coming together in an Adult Contemporary/Jazz style.  In addition to her singing career, Amanda has had a great amount of success in the radio, television and commercial world.

Amanda recently completed her third album and this latest project was recorded Live in Shanghai. She was in China performing 6 nights a week at the brand new 5+ star Shangri-La Hotel in Pudong, Shanghai. She was excited to be surrounded by such talented musicians and a new and appreciative crowd every night. Amanda has also recently performed in Orlando, Las Vegas and most recently Nerumburg Germany. She can't wait to see what is around the corner and feels truly blessed to be living out her dreams.
Born and raised in the beautiful island town of Victoria, British Columbia, Amanda's music reflects the many influences of her childhood in her simple but relevant song writing. Amanda is always striving for a real emotional connection with her audience and often prefers a simple approach to production in the studio.

Some of her greatest musical influences include: Barbara Streisand, Bonnie Rait, Eva Cassidy, Diana Krall, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Gershwin, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Norah Jones. Her tastes in music are as diverse as the changing seasons in beautiful BC and she prefers it that way.

Amanda has been lucky enough to meet many of her musical idols, including Quincy Jones who has expressed interest in her music. Her dreams came true when she met and played with David Foster. She performed a private show for the King of Malaysia and met with top record executives in Hong Kong. Amanda met and had lunch with multi Grammy and Dove award winner, Steven Curtis Chapman and his family and record executives to discuss doing a song together. She sang with the famous actor Jeff Goldblum and his jazz quintet which included Katja Rieckermann who plays sax with Rod Stewart in LA. Amanda performed with the world famous violinist Lara St.John and had the honour of singing with Nita Whitaker who did the original demos for the Body Guard sound track. She is always honored to play with Dal Richards and his orchestra at venues like the White Rock Sea Festival and the historic PNE. Amanda continues to perform in the Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
